Writer's Challenge Week 3

Each week Ryan, Deadheadbill and I pick 2 sleepers and compare our picks after the weekend's action is finished. Ryan is leading our competition followed by Bill and yes I reside in our basement. Post your two sleeps of the week and after the weekend we can compare to see who has the goods. The criteria remains the same, less than 50% of ownership in yahoo leagues. Bill will post our cumulitive scores for week's 1-3 after the weekend. Each manager will add his own comment's to the picks.

Ryan's (Fuzzyman) Sleepers

This week I am going to change it up with a 2 TE formation to fool the fantasy defenses.

Aaron Hernandez - TE - NE. This week I am going with the big rookie TE out of the University of Florida. He is really hitting it off with Tom Brady and looks to be the type of player to open up the field for Welker and Moss, especially against softer defenses (see what the Packers did to the Pats foe this week, the Bills, Rodgers completed 65% and had 250yds and 2 tds).

Projection: 5 catches 89 yds and a TD

Tony Moeki - TE - Chiefs. (5% owned) gotta hand it to Ryan here for this deep sleep pick. Again going with a rookie TE that has made a solid connection with his starting QB. Moeki has become an early favorite target of Matt Cassell. I wouldn't go so far to call him Tony Gonzalez, and I do have to realize that Cassell is throwing him the ball, which causes me to temper my expectations. By seasons end I expect the chiefs to have two 1000 yds rushers and a QB with 2000 yds passing and of that 2000 yds I expect Moeki to have 600+ yds if healthy and in the starting lineup. If you weren't lucky enough to grab one of the top 5-6 TE's Moeki would make make a nice grab especially in dynasty leagues.

Projection: 4 catches 57 yds & 1 TD

Show's Sleeps

Brad Tolbert - RB - SD Super Chargers - (owned in 33% of leagues at the time I am writing this), prob pushing 50% if Ryan sits) Ryan Matthews is battling a high ankle sprain and is doubtful for Sunday. The Chargers seem to have found a hammer in their running game and ya gotta love this kid in goalline situations.

Benjarvus Green-Ellis - RB - Pats. 3% owned at the time of my research BJE is kind've a reach into the abyss that is the Pats running game. Let's hope the RB with the six syllable name gets me 6 on Sunday.

Deadheadbill's Sleeps

I thought long and hard about the risk/reward play that comes along with my first pick. Until I see a bad game vs Detroit in week 3 I think Farve has more than a chance at getting back into a groove based on experience alone. With Rice out til the second half and Berrian playing statistical hide and seek , something tells me that Brett will need a deep threat this weekend to compliment AP and Shiancoe. With this matchup I think that threat could be my guy so with my first sleeper pick I take Greg Camarillo, WR Vikings. If the old gunslinger looks his way enough he could be in for 70-80 yards and maybe even a touchdown.

After seeing Ryan's picks I wanted to keep up with the TE theme. The TE I like this week as a sneaky play is Jermaine Gresham, TE, Bengals. Even though this is a road game I like his chances vs a defense that can be picked apart by an accurate QB and Palmer(who can be inconsistent at times) looks to have a big game giving Gresham a great shot at 50 yds and a td.

Thanks to Ryan and Bill for their picks. Let's see what kinda picks the readers have for us this week.
